Goodbye Bubble Bath
Whoever said baby shampoo meant ‘no more tears’ was wrong, and has never bathed an entire litter of their puppies they adore!
Don’t get me wrong I don’t mean that in a bad way because this is the most gentle shampoo ever but today we shed tears as we said our final goodbyes.
As tradition goes I pick a day or time to say my personal goodbyes to my sweet babies.
I do this in private because it is very emotional, I do it before they are in your arms which makes it easier on all of us (trust me and please don’t offer them up to me for a goodbye, once I’ve placed them in your arms). Your take home day fills me with joy and happiness and not tears.
Today I said my goodbyes with a bubble bath in a kiddie pool on a warm sunny day. We all were soaking wet at some point in the process, whether it was splashes of water or tears running down my face it really didn’t matter. There is something so pure, gentle and soul touching about bathing my puppies.
I rub each of these babies, like the first day they were born! I kiss them, love them and admired something special about each one of them. This process is one of my absolute favorite times when I am raising your puppy.
As I sat soaking wet snuggle them I noticed ….
- Star with her gentle nature, curly hair and eyes that melt my heart.
- Dee, flitting around ready for action and adventure always maintaining eye contact.
- Piper, always the first to sit when I enter their world and tips her head an a way she tells me she wants to play.
- King – soulful and quiet in the back row until he thinks it’s time to ramp things up.
- Gale, blending in and watching before reacting.
- Ridge – My gentle giant looking regal and always smiling.
- Mingo her beautiful shades of color in her coat I never imagined I would produce. The suit her unique sweet nature.
- Con – sitting to the side and always respectful of the big dogs but not afraid to speak his mind.
These wonderful little beings have only just begun their flight in this world.
Teach them and make them a wonderful part of your life.
My hope is that you realize the love I put into them started far before they took their first breath.
It is time for them to leave the nest and spread their wings with you. It has been an amazing privilege to bring these babies into this world and place them in your arms.
